“Last year we gay sashayed across the nation and celebrated pride, across the nation, with hundreds of you.”
The announcement came in a video, which featured the drag queen wearing a custom rainbow dress and matching leg warmers and headband.
“Hi, it’s me, Pattie Gonia, a real-life homosexual,” the video began. “And today, I’m here with The North Face, we are here to invite you to come out,” Pattie Gonia continues, adding after a pause, “in nature with us.”
“We like to call this little tour the Summer of Pride,” he said, standing in an open field with heels on.
“This tour has everything, hiking, community, art, lesbians, lesbians making art. Last year we gay sashayed across the nation and celebrated pride, across the nation, with hundreds of you, across the nation.”
“This year we’re back back back again with two new stops: Atlanta, GA—Y? because you’re there. And Salt Lake City, we’re coming for you.
“So come outside, and celebrate the beautiful LGHGTV community,” Pattie Gonia concluded.
The tour will stop in Salt Lake City on July 8, and Atlanta on September 16.
This is the second year The North Face has teamed up with Pattie Gonia, launching a similar advertisement last year in which the drag queen wore a silver dress where the skirt resembled a tent.
Last year saw the Summer of Pride tour stop in Portland, Oregon; Columbus, Ohio; Denver, Colorado; and San Francisco, California.
North Face has also launched its pride month collection ahead of June, which features rainbow-patterned men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing and accessories.
